Renato Grammatica, M.S., P.T., C.S.C.S., Owner/Director
Renato has 20 years of experience treating sports orthopedic pre-operative, post operative and non-operative conditions or injuries. His professional experience began at Eastside Sports Physical Therapy in NYC after graduating with a Masters Degree from Long Island University in 1989. In 1994, Mr. Grammatica opened Westchester Sports Physical Therapy where he continues to work with the top orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine specialists and internists in New York City and Westchester County. He is recognized as an Advanced Hip Clinician from the Hospital for Special Surgery. He is also certified in the Graston Technique. Mr. Grammatica’s extensive professional experience includes rehabilitating and conditioning adolescent, high school, collegiate, semi-professional and professional athletes. Over the many years of practice he has conducted pre-sports participation musculoskeletal screenings, designed and implemented post-injury fitness programs in addition to developing injury prevention programs for local athletes. In June of 2009, Mr. Grammatica has expanded his physical therapy facility to include Empower Athletic Development. At Empower, he conducts movement screenings, designs program methodology for post surgical/injury strength/conditioning and athletic performance. Mr. Grammatica is a former competitive cyclist and continues to work with local tri-athletes and competitive cyclists.



Jim Kalchbrenner, P.T., Assistant Director
Jim received his B.S. in physical therapy in 1994 from SUNY Buffalo and has been a staff physical therapist at Westchester Sports Physical Therapy since 1996. He has experience treating all age groups and has worked extensively with the orthopedic population, focusing his treatment on returning patients to a more functional, pain-free lifestyle. Jim treats all orthopedic dysfunctions but has interest in post surgical knee and shoulder patients. His treatments and individualized exercise programs are designed to educate, strengthen and stabilize proper movement patterns, thus improving the patients overall quality of life. He continues to advance his manual skills through a vast array of continuing education courses. Jim enjoys spending his free time with his wife, son, their two beagles and flying squirrel.



Jaclyn LaBarbera, DPT
Jaclyn received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Binghamton University in 2003. Jaclyn graduated from New York Medical College where she earned the degree in Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2007. At NYMC, she showed an interest in ergonomics and did both her community service and doctoral projects focusing in on office ergonomics. Jaclyn is passionate about patient care and demonstrates true patience and sensitivity to her clients needs. Jaclyn is dedicated to professional development in orthopedics and hopes to further her education with interests in manual therapy and sports rehabilitation.


Amy Bruno PT, DPT
Dr. Bruno completed her undergraduate degree from Marist College in 2003. She completed her Doctorate in physical therapy from New York Medical College in 2008 where she researched adolescent strength training in a NYC school district. Additionally, Amy has experience in industrial/work hardening type programs emphasizing instruction on proper body mechanics and preventing occupational injuries. Amy also participated in the organization of the Race for Rehab, a walk/run benefiting the Achilles Track Club during her time at New York Medical College. She has the ability to take patients to the higher stages of recovery to return them to their prior level of function and get them back to their desired sporting activities.
